The green hills of Bologna dominated by the cultivation of vines and interspersed with impervious gullies, offer the visitor unique landscape views. The whole hilly stretch is crossed by a dense maze of paths and paths which in this period are an inevitable destination for those who want to experience moments of serenity in the open air.

You will be able to travel the Bologna section of theStreet of the Gods, the path that unites Bologna and Florence and which crosses the territory of Casalecchio di Reno in the panoramic point of thePath of the Bregoliis in theLock Park, to then continue along the Reno River in the direction of Sasso Marconi, with the possibility of admiring the Pliocene Buttress and the San Gherardo Oasis.

In Valsamoggia and Monte San Pietro you can instead walk the ancient path of theLittle Cassiawhich connects Nonantola to Pistoia, and which in the High Middle Ages became a Longobard road and therefore one of the many itineraries that led to Rome joining up with the Via Francigena. The Piccola Cassia is a path rich in historical and religious testimonies (Nonantola Abbey, Rocca di Bazzano, Monteveglio Abbey, Serravalle Castle and S. Apollinare, Badia, Santa Lucia and Pieve di Roffeno, Bombiana, Rocca Corneta, Fanano and many other historic centers and villages), and I will give you the opportunity to discover varied landscapes and authentic flavours.

On the vast territory of Monte San Pietro, however, it is possible to follow the paths mapped out as part of the "Cuore Colli Bolognesi" tourist project, including eight circular paths that will give you the opportunity to discover a unique and evocative landscape.

If you love wine and its culture, you can also walk through the ancientVia dei Brentatoriand theVia dei Colli, following in the footsteps of the ancient Brentatori who with their "brente" brought the wine from the hills to the city. Extremely interesting and suitable routes for lovers of trail, Nordic walking, cycling, but also of the food and wine excellences of the area. In fact, while walking it will be possible to stop among the various wineries of the Colli Bolognesi, the production area of the Colli Bolognesi Pignoletto DOCG, which in recent years has been able to make itself known and appreciated more and more not only locally but also nationally and internationally.

It is also possible to take relaxing walks in the parks of the area, on all theRegional Park at the foot of the Monteveglio Abbeyand, along the Rhine, thePark of the Casalecchio lockpoint from which it is possible to admire the Chiusa, the oldest hydraulic work in Europe still in operation.
