Manaresi winery

The Manaresi winery stands high on the Bella Vista hill, in the middle of its 11 hectares of vineyards, with a view of Bologna and the whole plain.

The company is dedicated to Paul Manaresi (1908-1991), painter and engraver of the twentieth century, maternal grandfather of Donatella Agostoni, who personally leads her with her husband Fabio Bottonelli in the constant search for balance and elegance: "Making wine for us is do (good) agriculture: we put our face and hands into it". κατά μέτρον

The soils are typically 'red', clayey, from ancient disintegrations of Pliocene marl and sandstone, with gravelly veins; boast a documented millenary vocation for viticulture.

The cellar, equipped to respect the grapes as much as possible, is buried under a renovated rural house, with a suggestive part of the early twentieth century preserved unchanged.

The wines are produced exclusively from hand-picked proprietary grapes, in crates, with a low-impact agricultural philosophy (organic conversion) and a careful but non-invasive oenological approach.
